Runners To Your Marks, Get Set....

We had a great time watching the kids run yesterday. For Jax, Mason, and Aly it was their very first time running in a track meet. Jackson and Mason really impressed me running in the 7 year old and under 50m dash. They definitely have their daddy's running style. Kasey's very proud. Jackson was so nervous about the starting gun that he broke down crying at the line but still wanted to run. (He and Mason have never liked loud noises.) The line judge put the starting gun away and blew a whistle for their age group when he saw how upset Jax was. Kasey stayed at the start line with the boys and I stood at the finish line. Mason ran right through the finish line and into my arms. It was so cute. Jackson did very well. He placed 3rd and got to go to the timer's table. Alyson ran the 400m dash. In my opinion that's the hardest race of all. She ran against girls 2 years older than her and certainly showed some talent. I got so caught up in watching her run. She had this look of determination on her face, it was contagious. It reminded me of when I was little running track, I can still hear my Dad yelling from the stands "Go Tina!". I could always here him above everyone else. Aly had awesome stride too, what a runner! By the time she finished the lap around the track I had to fight back tears. Last but certainly not least was Emileigh. She ran the 200m dash. She too ran against girls 2 years older than her. Kasey told her he wanted her to beat 40.0 seconds. He walked her to the starting line and stood with her till the race started. She ran her little heart out!! Aly, Jax, Mason, & Owen all shouted "Go Emi, Go" as she ran. She too made a trip to the timer's table and was happy to know that she got 39.5 seconds.
We were all quite hungry after a 3 hour track meet so Kasey treated us all to dinner outside at Moe's. (our favorite) I couldn't just pick a couple pictures, I wanted to show them all off so they are in 3 separate posts as you scroll down. Look at the bottom post first, it's the beginning. (for some reason part of the pictures get cut off on the right side...oops)Way to go kids! I'm so proud!
