I never had a tree house when I was little. Oh I wanted one, really bad, but I never got one. I was such a tomboy that I probably would have put a sign on it that read "No girly girls allowed...And no sisters either" I have to admit that many things my boys do I just roll my eyes in wonder "why in the world would he do such a thing" but for the most part I totally understand things they do. Especially when they play, I love to watch and listen as they pretend. It's great. They can transport themselves anywhere and yet stay right in the backyard.
Two years ago Kasey and his dad built the boys a tree house. Not one of those fancy ones that you build from a boxed kit. Oh no, it's just a good old fashioned tree house. One like I would've loved to have, no girly curtains or double-hung windows. Just a plain old wooden house in a big old tree. Of course it was for the boys but I was excited too, I couldn't wait to see them play and pretend in it. They've had many picnics, clubs, and "look out towers" from atop the little house. This summer two little boys have moved in next door and our tree house is getting more action than ever. Most nights the 4 oldest boys end up at the top of the tree house shinning their flashlights to the yard below.
So yesterday Mom and I (Mamaw George, as the boys call her) went to Lowe's where we bought supplies to "accessorize" the tree house. We bought thick black rope to hang a rope with knots from the edge for the boys to climb up, we picked out several items including a pulley system and a bright shiny new metal bucket so that items could be pulled up and down without having to carry them up the ladder, and we bought the items needed for a tire swing hanging off of the other side of the tree house. On our way home we stopped by a local car mechanic and requested a good old tire for a tire swing. A very nice man working there picked out the perfect tire, loaded it into our car, and charged us nothing!!! Woohoo for freebies! I have to say that all of you who thought that we tomboys know nothing about accessorizing are dead wrong. I received major mommy points for the updated tree house. Not to mention, now I get to play too :)
Thank you Mamaw George for helping to make more memories for 3 happy little boys!
Let the good times roll!

Praying for no broken arms! If I remember correctly, one injury has already occured from the tree house.
Sorry it is just the nurse in me :)
Yup, Jackson jumped from the tree house in November of 05 and broke his arm. But hey, we're makin' memories here people, come on!! :)
In his defense he had jumped from it many many times, it just took one time of not landing properly. He was back up there in no time though.
