Oh the things they say that I must remember...

I've never been a nickname kinda mom when it comes to my boys calling their "parts" by other names. Nicknamed parts tend to be used as toilet/parts humor that can get a tad annoying and go overboard especially when you live in a house with 4 boys. So I've always encouraged them to call their "parts" by the real name. I don't let them say wienie, wiener, winker, wee wee, winky, pee pee or any other name. A penis is a penis...ya know? Anyway, I've been saying that Swartz (our dog) is looking more like a mutated wiener dog than a boxer or whatever he is. So the other night after we went to see a movie Mason started pretending to be the dog on the movie. He said (as he barked and growled) "I'm gonna get you Owen, my name is Junk Yard". Owen (not to be outdone) barked and growled along and said "I'm gonna get you too, I'm a penis dog."
When I corrected him "UM, Owen don't you mean wiener dog?" He said, "No, we're not supposed to say wiener."

a couple days later...
Mason had been listening to KLOVE radio with me most of the day and had heard them talking about starving children. They kept giving statistics about how many families and children are hungry and I didn't even realize that he was paying attention. Later that night after we put the boys to bed and they had begged and begged for ANOTHER bedtime snack (which they do EVERY NIGHT) we went to our room and could hear Mason crying. I yelled to his room "Mason, what's wrong?" He said, "I fink I'm gonna die". Kasey and I just looked at each other like "WHAT?" Kasey said, "Why do you think you're gonna die?" He said, "Because I'm starving, and every 7 seconds a child dies of starvation."
